BALI

MY RECENT TRIP TO BALI / JIMBARAN...

Hi Guys welcome back to my blog.

Today I`m excited to share with you my most recent trip to beautiful Bali. There is so much to tell you about Bali, its culture, beauty, serenity and most importantly the love and happiness amongst the local people. In today's blog I will be focusing on our stay in Jimbaran.

My husband and I travelled to Bali in June to celebrate our wedding anniversary and we stayed in Jimbaran. We were looking for a very relaxing holiday and we wanted a resort that had all the facilities we would need without having to venture very far. After plenty of research I found the perfect place, it was actually so perfect that it rates in my top all-time favourite resorts. I`ve been very fortunate to have stayed in some beautiful resorts, but this is definitely up there with my number one spot in the Maldives but I will share my Maldives adventures with you in another blog soon. For now let’s stick to Beautiful Bali.

I highly recommend this resort for a romantic get away with that someone special or a honeymoon or even a wedding…

So where is the place??

It`s called AYANA/RIMBA RESORT in Jimbaran. It was 90 hectors of pure PERFECTION with 15 restaurants and bars including the worlds famous Rock Bar which was one of my favourites. It had 11 swimming pools an Aquatomic centre, spa on the rocks and I can’t forget the white sand private beach kubu. So if your looking for a resort that has it all then this is the place for you.

As we had already all the sightseeing done from our previous trips to Bali we spent pretty much all of time in the resort apart from 2 occasions when we ventured into Seminyak where there is endless variety of bars, restaurants and night life and if you are looking for clubs you might also want to venture into Kuta but be ready for all the hustle and bustle Kuta offers.

If you do plan on going on a lot of day trips/activities and shopping I would probably stay in Kuta or Seminyak (Seminyak been my preferred option). Bali is a place where it caters for everyone’s needs and also everyone’s budget. It really just all depends on what kind of a holiday you are looking for and what you plan on doing on your trip.

When it came to food at the resort we were so spoilt for choice. There was 15 restaurants but my favourites had to be Dava, Kisk and Sami Sami. The salmon i received at Dava was the best i have ever had and hubbie had the steak and he said it was perfection. Rock Bar was my favorite to chill out and drink cocktails at sunset, you have to try the Blood Diamond cocktail, it looks and tastes amazing!

We had a choice for breakfast - self-serviced buffet or an a la carte breakfast in Dava which I would recommend if you wanted a more quite intimate breakfast but it was great to have a choice and so much amazing food in both. We tried to eat somewhere different every day and I could not fault anything it was all top notch but then again you get what you pay for and it defiantly is not cheap, especially for Bali standards.

Just a short walk away was Jimbaran Bay, famous for its seafood sunsets, local culture and traditional seafood markets. It was a fun evening out but be aware of the prices as some restaurants charge a lot more for the exact same dishes. We walked across the beach to see what was on offer and then we decided where to eat.

Now onto the pools the whole 11 of them OMG it was heaven, a new pool area to visit every day, we did spend most of our time in the river pool, it was very peaceful there and all the beds where so far apart sometimes it felt like we were the only ones there. We would then go to Unique bar where they served cocktails in the pool with over-sized bean bags and we would watch the sunset, perfect right! I really wish I was there now...

Here is a few of my personal top things to do while visiting Bali

TOP THINGS TO DO IN BALI

  • Private tour around the Island (make sure and bargain a price for this as they expect it)

  • Rice Terrace - We visited the Tegallalang terraces

  • Temples - Wearing a sarong around your waist is required for most temples

  • Water Sports - We did our water sports in Nusa Dua and it was such a fun day

  • Gilly Islands - Use the fast boat services and you will be there in no time

  • Monkey Forest - The monkeys are hilarious, defiantly worth a visit

  • Jimbaran Bay - Visit Jimbaran for your seafood feast on the beach, its yummy!

  • Kisk - Loved this Restaurant in Ayana, another great sunset dinner.

  • Rock Bar - One of my favs for cocktails/sunset try the Blood Diamond cocktail..

  • Potato Head - Hubbie and I had a fun night out at this beach club in Seminyak

  • KU DE TA - Similar beach club to Potato head

  • Sunday Beach Club - A nice day out at the beach in Uluwata - There is an entrance fee!

  • Finns-Beach Club - Another fun beach day out in Canggu - Minimum spend for sunbeds.

I always go way over board on my research but I promise it always pays off so I highly recommend doing your research. I honestly could write so much more but I will leave it at that for now and of course if you have any Bali favourites I would love to hear them.

A few pics from my most recent trip in July

Much Love
